Media releases Joyce Repeats in NSW Friday, 6 August 2004 Martin Joyce has successfully defended his title in winning the 2004 NSW PGA Trainee Championships at Horizons Golf Resort. Joyce fired a final round 74 to claim the title from fellow Victorian David Williams. With trying conditions all week Joyce’s consistency proved too strong for the rest of the field, holding his front running position for all four days. His defence was set on the opening day as he shot an even par 72 when less than half the field broke 80. Williams got within two shots of Joyce on the final nine holes but was unable to pull back the leader who remained solid down the final stretch.
