The final round saw play suspended at 10.40am and the leading eight groups hitting off at 3pm with play being stopped at 7pm playing the 12th hole. Byrnes said “Concord is a reasonably long course and very difficult with the extreme weather conditions. The greens were very sleek and play slowed down by the rain over the weekend. I spent some time with my coach and was very pleased with my results”. Australian Rachel Teske finished in 2nd position with +1, two shots ahead of Englishwomen, Trish Johnson. Leading amateur, Sarah-Jane Kenyon posted commendable scores of 76, 70, 77 and 73 to finish in 10th position. Byrnes plays in the $25,000 2004 Club Car Classic at 11.20am today being held at St Michael’s Golf Club. To follow Cherie’s progress during the ALPG Tour, please visit www.alpgtour.com . |
